AB 395 Is “Staying Put”

Citing a “cooperative spirit”, the legislative leadership has decided not to bring up Gibbons’ vetoed bills for a vote. At least for now. This means AB 395, the symbolic “collective bargaining” bill is on-hold as it was before. It is said the vetoed bills might reappear in a different form. Realistically, AB 395 will probably just go away because supporting it would be seen as supporting state employees and that would not look good.

But, in the spirit of cooperation … let the negotiations begin! What do we have to loose? How about this…. unfreeze salaries, get rid of furloughs and don’t support a pay-cut of any amount. While you are at it, increase health insurance subsidy so state retirees can afford to pay their health insurance premiums.
