This is a statement from PEBP’s report (page 14) :

“Based on better than expected claims experience for the first half of the current Plan Year and updated enrollment forecasts, Staff projects PEBP will end Fiscal Year 2011 with fully funded Incurred But Not Reported and Catastrophic Reserves at a 95% confidence level they are sufficient to maintain the long-term solvency of the Plan as well as approximately $35 million in excess reserves.  These revised projections reduce the original budget reduction target from $111 million to $85 million and provide Staff an opportunity to make recommendations to the Board to restore some of the previously approved benefit reductions based on the priorities established by the Board.”

This means the plan is doing well and has saved $26 million since July 1, 2010. For the full report called “2011 State of  PEBP” click here.
